Wisconsin's Big Ten Tournament run ends with double OT loss to Michigan

All good things must come to an end, but what a run. Wisconsin, seeded 13th, defied logic in the City of Champions at the 2019 Big Ten Tournament.

The Badgers played three games in three days including a double overtime thriller against the fourth-seeded Michigan in the quarterfinals on Friday. UW never gave up, but would ultimately fall to the Wolverines, 73-65, at Bankers Life Fieldhouse, ending the unbelievable Badgers run.

Wisconsin (15-18) and Michigan (21-10) traded buckets throughout the game. Despite the Wolverines leading the bulk of the first half and grabbing the largest lead, 18-11, in the first minute of the second quarter, UW would end the half on a 5-0 run to take the lead (29-28) outscoring Michigan 18-12 in the second quarter to stay in the game.

Sophomore Niya Beverley led the Badgers with 15 points including two from 3-point range. Three other Badgers shot in double figures — freshman Imani Lewis (13), senior Marsha Howard (12), and senior Kelly Karlis( 10). Lewis and Karlis also both tallied three steals.
