Marquette rallies past Wisconsin volleyball 3-2 Thursday night

Marquette won three straight games to close out Wisconsin 3-2 in an epic five-set match at the Field House on Thursday night in the HotelRed Invitational in Madison.

For the Golden Eagles, it was the first program win over Wisconsin in program history.

Wisconsin won the first two games 25-22, but Marquette was able to hang tough in the third set, claiming a 29-27 overtime victory. In the fourth game, Marquette was down 30-29, but Allie Barber had one of her match-high 22 kills to even up the scoring before two errors gave the Golden Eagles an epic 32-30 win in the fourth set.

The Golden Eagles won the decisive fifth set 15-9, the last score a kill by Barber to seal Marquette's first-ever win over Wisconsin in six tries.
